Futures Hardship Fund

£2,230 has been raised from 9 donors.

Our students come to Canterbury Christ Church University determined to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. But increasing financial pressures mean many are struggling to cover even the basics while they study.

Last year saw record demand for hardship funds, as more students found it difficult to afford food, essentials, and secure accommodation.

The Futures Hardship Fund provides vital support in these moments of need—helping students meet their immediate costs so they can focus on their studies and make the most of the opportunities available to them. Our goal is simple: no student should be left hungry, cold, or isolated while working hard to change their future.

“I don’t have any support from my family, so when I hit rock bottom financially, I thought I’d have no choice but to leave university. I’m so grateful for the hardship support I’ve received this year which has helped me pay for essentials. It’s kept me going and means I can carry on working towards my goal of becoming a PE teacher, so I can help young people from difficult backgrounds like mine.”
