What is Canterbury Christ Church University’s Futures Day?

A 36-hour online and on-campus giving initiative in which we ask our entire community to come together, to join us as we raise money for students so they can access a CCCU education, overcome financial barriers, and have the confidence and support they need to achieve their very best, and define their own futures. With matched and challenge funding generously donated from our alumni and business partners’ it’s a day like no other, and your gift will go even further than usual.

We are also hosting an exciting programme of fun activities and events on our Canterbury campus which we’d love you to join us for and get involved in! It will be a transformational day of giving, and it’s all about what we can achieve together to support our students.

This year’s Futures Day will take place on 8th-9th May 2024. We’re excited for you to join us!

What difference will my donation make?

This year we have seen more students applying for financial support than ever before, reflecting the increasing hardship for many students, and we expect this to continue.

Your gift today will directly support our students who are facing unprecedented financial pressures. It will enable them to come to university through Futures Scholarships, or allow them to complete their studies if they are struggling financially due to the cost-of-living crisis. Our aim is to increase the wellbeing support available to all students so that they can participate in the opportunities available to them at CCCU.

All gifts, of every size, will make a real difference. With matched and challenge funding from our alumni and business partners, your gift can go even further than usual. All gifts, of whatever size, add up and make a significant difference. Having a large number of donors encourages others to support us too, so we would love as many members of our community to participate in CCCU’s Futures Day as possible.

Who is invited to the campus for Futures Day?

Everyone in our community is invited to join us for our Futures Day events on Campus! We’d love as many of our alumni, local community, businesses, and families to join us as possible. We're opening up our whole campus with a host of fun activities, live music, and opportunities to donate.

You could find yourself taking part in a scavenger hunt, getting a free massage, escaping reality through VR, picking up a bargain at our craft fair, winning first prize at the Great Christ Church Bake Off, racing the clock in a resuscitation challenge, time travelling out of our climate escape room, or watching your favourite staff member being gunged in the gunge tank!

So come along on 8-9 May, join us and have fun, as our whole community comes together to support our students.
