A scholarship can transform the course of a student’s life forever. Whose future will you change?

Right now students are facing unprecedented financial pressures, and these soaring costs can be a real barrier to coming to university, and may prevent them from completing their studies.

Recent analysis by dataHE showed an unprecedented fall in university entrance rates for under-represented groups, and these groups are also less likely to complete their studies (Office for Students). A report by the Students’ Union has also indicated that nearly two thirds of our students have considered leaving Christ Church University because of the cost-of-living crisis.

This is why, with your help, we are introducing a series of Futures Scholarships aimed at supporting new and existing students with £5,000 a year for each year of their study. Futures Scholarships are aimed at students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may come from lower-income or disadvantaged families, be the first in their family to go to university, or have no family support at all. These students have the most to gain from university life. They also have the most to worry about financially if they get here.

Studying for a university education can feel completely out of reach for some people.

With your help, we can change that.

"I’ve always wanted to be a children’s nurse but had been worried about the cost of coming to university. It was only when I found out I’d been awarded a scholarship that I decided to commit to my place here at CCCU. It was so overwhelming I cried! I’m the first person in my family to come to university, and I’m hoping my influence will rub off on my siblings so they can also dream of a better future."
